Avera St. Anthony’s Hospital wants you to have the best childbirth experience possible. Start by attending prenatal childbirth education class in the 1st or 2nd trimester of pregnancy, which focuses on nutrition, exercise, and ensuring a safe and healthy pregnancy.
Then in the 3rd and last trimester of pregnancy attend the Lamaze childbirth class which will discuss topics such as progressive breathing and relaxation techniques associated with labor and delivery, and postpartum and newborn care.
Informative videos, and handouts, and a tour of the facility including labor and delivery rooms is included in this session. Participants are given the opportunity to ask a physician any questions they might have as well as visit with a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist about pain management options and techniques, which will enhance their childbirth experience.
Classes will be held in the Lower Level Hospital Conference Room. A donation of
$5.00 is accepted to help cover the cost of supplies. For more information
